With its administrative headquarters in Olean, NY, Vector Marketing is a wholly owned subsidiary of Cutco Corporation, which has been manufacturing Cutco Cutlery since 1949.

Although Vector Marketing is divided up into 6 "regions" (Northeast, Midwest, Eastern, Central, Southwest,Western ) and Canada for management and administrative purposes, representatives are not confined by any pre-set territories and are free to market the product anywhere in the country.
Both Vector Marketing Corporation and Cutco Cutlery Corporation are wholly owned subsidiaries of Cutco Corporation. Formally known as Alcas Corporation, the company was created as a joint venture between ALCOA and Case Cutlery, the factory in Olean, N.Y. was completed in 1949 and the first set of CUTCO Cutlery was shipped to New Kensington, Pa. that same year. ALCOA purchased Case's share of the company in 1972. In 1982 several managers purchased the company from ALCOA in a management buy-out. The company remains privately held today, and is proud to be one of the largest employers in Cattaraugus County, NY. Vector Marketing began as an independent distributor of CUTCO Cutlery in 1981. Soon, it outpaced other distributorships across the country, driving sales higher with exceptional training and leadership. Within several years, Vector Marketing eclipsed the smaller sales organizations and was named CUTCO's sole distributor in 1985. The company's successful programs were replicated throughout the organization, leading to sustained annual growth of over 20% for most of the 1980s and early 1990s. Vector Marketing expanded into Canada in 1990 and today the company operates more than 250 offices in North America.
